After watching my classmate help cut her Dad’s hair in 6th grade I knew I wanted to be a stylist one day.,My mom was so encouraging of my love for hair, that she would get me Mannequin head and wigs , but reminded me that I had to practice a LOT if I ever wanted a chance at doing hers.From that first mannequin, I was HOOKED!
For years I was in the medical field as a respiratory therapist ( therapist by day, hair artist by night) . I’ve always had a passion for making people feel better, but something was missing, so after moving to Chicago from California in 2012, I decided I wanted to finally go for my dream job full time.
I am a hair nerd. I take a class or tutorial at least once a month, and I love sharing what I learn with my clients. You’ve seen a new technique for coloring hair? I’m on it!
When I’m not at the salon, I love to spend time outside in the sun ( California girl for life) , taking care of my jungle of plants in my house, or watching the latest Netflix documentaries. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts on my commute to and from the salon, so if you have a recommendation, I’ll take it and we can talk about it the next time you’re in!
I may specialize in lived in color and blonding techniques, but I have a real eye for looking at the album of pictures my clients bring in, and figure out exactly what they want. I like to have a no pressure, relaxed approach to hair, while educating my clients how they can get their dream color and style . ++ I ALSO LIKE TO KEEP IT REAL WITH MY CLIENTS, SO SOME THINGS I DO NOT SPECIALIZE IN, AND WOULD SUGGEST FINDING A DIFFERENT STYLIST FOR ; PIXIE CUTS AND DEVA CURL METHOD HAIRCUTS, solid platinum orvivid colors ( like pinks and blues). My passion and specialty is Women’s hair, so I no longer take children or barber cut clients.
